You may be setting yourself up for a difficult transition by overly personalizing your home to a point that no one else would want to buy it! If there is likelihood that you will one day be ready to sell your home, you should choose a timeless design. Traditional style with neutral colors may not be exciting right away, but it will pay off in the end. Add your personal flair with accents such as framed family photos, wall art, your favorite color bedding, curtains or sofa pillows. An addition of plants can also give an added flair. The goal is to add your personal touches to a very neutral landscape. Colorful tiling or bright wall paint can cost you an easy sale when you are ready to put your house on the market.
